Get to Know Me – The Strategist, Creator & Hustler Behind the Blog
Hey there, I’m Enricka!
If we were sitting across from each other, coffee in hand, and you asked, “How did you end up here?” I’d probably smile and say, “It’s a long story.” But since you’re here, let me give you the short version.
It all started with a blog post. Just one.
I had the chance to write for Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD) about urban-to-rural migration, sharing my own experience of leaving my rural community for work. That post? It changed everything.
Coming from a small farming community where sugarcane production and family farming were a way of life, and later earning my BSc in Agribusiness, I became deeply passionate about youth involvement in agriculture policy-making. That passion took me across countries, into advocacy, volunteering, and freelancing as a social media marketer and eventually, into building an online business.
Then, life threw me a curveball.
I lost my father to end-stage kidney disease and complications from Type 2 diabetes. His passing was a wake-up call. I saw firsthand what happens when dreams are put on hold when you keep waiting for “the right time.”
He had so many things he wanted to do, things he thought he’d have time for.
But in the end, time ran out.
And that changed everything for me. Because if I didn’t make a move now, if I didn’t start going after what I wanted, I knew I’d end up with the same regrets.
I didn’t want to live like that.
So I made a decision.
I stopped waiting. I took everything I’d learned from advocacy, business, digital marketing, and life experience and started building. I didn’t have all the answers, but I had momentum and that’s all I needed.
That’s why I created this blog.
I didn’t want my niece, my future nieces and nephews, or my own kids to grow up afraid to take risks, to hesitate on their dreams. I want them to see that trying and failing is better than never trying at all.
Because if you’re reading this, you’re here for a reason.
